Sungrow SBR

Established in Australia

Sungrow is a large manufacturer with a long presence in the Australian market. The SBR is one of the more common home batteries you will see installed here. That means a wide installer network, reasonable parts availability, and a brand that has been around long enough to honour warranties.

If you want a well-known brand with plenty of installers to choose from, Sungrow is a legitimate option.

Modular in smaller increments

The SBR starts at 3.2kWh per module and goes up to 25.6kWh. That gives you more granularity in sizing if you want to start small and keep the initial cost down. For a smaller home or a household that doesn't use much power at night, starting with one or two modules can make sense.

Separate inverter and battery

Sungrow's SBR battery pairs with their hybrid inverters as separate units. In some installs, having the inverter and battery in different locations makes placement easier, particularly where wall space is tight or the layout doesn't suit an all-in-one unit.

Temperature range

Sungrow's operating range starts at -10°C, compared to GoodWe's 0°C lower limit. For coastal Queensland this rarely matters. If you're in the hinterland it is worth knowing.

GoodWe ESA Lynx

Why we stock it

We're an electrical contracting business, not a sales company. We stock a small number of products we can stand behind. The GoodWe ESA Lynx ticks the boxes that matter to us: LFP chemistry, solid build quality, a 10-year warranty, and a price point that makes the numbers work for most households on the Sunshine Coast.

We install both and know how each performs in the field.

Scales from 5 to 48kWh

The ESA Lynx is stackable in modules. You can start at 5kWh and add capacity later as your needs change. The upper range of 48kWh means there's room to grow significantly without replacing the system you've already got. For households with higher energy use or an EV, that headroom matters.

Efficiency

GoodWe achieves 95% roundtrip efficiency. Less energy is lost in the conversion between charging and discharging. Over the life of the system, that adds up to a meaningful difference in how much of your solar generation you actually use.

After-sales support

Because we install it ourselves and know the product, we can support it after the job is done. That matters more than it sounds. Some installers put in a product they barely know and leave you to call the manufacturer if something goes wrong. We don't do that.

We handle Energex applications and can guide you through the energy retailer side. Most installers leave that with you.
