Solar and Battery Installations in Nambour

Nambour is different from the coast. A lot of the housing is older: high-set weatherboard and hardwood-framed Queenslanders, and plenty of post-war timber and brick places in Burnside and along the older streets. Woombye, Palmwoods, Yandina and Bli Bli have a mix of established homes and newer estates. Then there's the hinterland out to Maleny and Montville, where you get acreage, sheds, and long overhead power runs that were never put in with solar or batteries in mind.

That older housing stock is the first thing we look at. Old switchboards with ceramic fuses, no RCD protection and undersized mains are common around Nambour. None of that stops a battery going in, but it does have to be sorted first. We check it at the quote stage and price the switchboard upgrade in with the rest of the job. You'll know the full cost before you say yes, not after.

Backup power comes up in most conversations we have around Nambour and the hinterland. Storms and trees coming down on lines are the usual causes, and on a rural line the wait to get power back on can be long. A battery set up with backup circuits will keep the fridge, lights, internet and a few power points running through an outage. We'll be honest about what a given battery size can and can't carry. Running the whole house, including air conditioning and a bore pump, takes a lot more storage than keeping the essentials going. Sigenergy and Tesla Powerwall 3 both do backup well. GoodWe and Sungrow have options too.

Retrofitting a battery to existing solar is the other common job. Some inverters can be integrated. Some are better replaced. We'll look at what you've got and tell you either way. Single-phase supply, which is common on rural blocks, comes with limits on how much you can export to the grid. We design around that from the start rather than finding out at the application stage.

Can you add a battery to my existing solar in Nambour?

Usually, yes. It depends on the inverter you have. Some can be integrated with a battery directly. Others need to be replaced, or the battery goes in with its own inverter alongside your existing system. We'll look at what's on your roof and in your switchboard and tell you which option makes sense before we quote.
